I put a totally dead battery on the charger and the green light stating fully charged is lit. I left the battery there for two hours and nothing happened.
Thanks, but I tried that and also checkedm the fuse. The batteries (3) and drill with charger are about two years old with minimal use. They all look brand new! Hello Michael. Fully-charged batteries should indicate a green light on the battery charger and should illuminate all the five LEDs on the Joystick. The batteries should take about 8 hours to be fully charged. If you charged them for less hours there is a possibility they were not fully charged. If you feel you charged them for enough time and the battery charger showed a green light, that is frustrating, but there is a chance either the charger or the batteries are faulty. Substituting both the charger and batteries or either of them may be the best solution.
Hi testing battery voltage will not give an accurate reading on battery condition U need a BATTERY LOAD TESTER.it will check the condition & give U a true reading on there condition ,..if batteries r good the next thing to check is the control box the charger circuit runs into the control then to the batteries if control box is faulty this could b the problem .,with youre charger not charging . LOAD TESTER AVAILABLE ON E/BAY APROX COST $35 , Cheers
Take note: The battery pack will not reach full charge capacity on the first few charges. The break-in period requires 4 to 5 charging cycles, where the battery pack is completely discharged ( no motor sound or tool motion) and then fully recharged. During the break-in period the battery needs to be charged 5 or more hours continuously. The green LED light on the charger will come on in 3-5 hours, this is normal, Continue to leave the battery pack chargingvfor a total of 5 hours or more. After the break-in period, a full recharge is indicated on the charger when the green LED light is lit. Note: Do not charge battery in areas lower than 50 degrees or higher than 80 degrees. Looks like this will need to be charged in the house. I found all this information on page 14 in your manual.
need more info on equipment to answer ,scooters dont have joystics powerchairs use joysticks if you have a powerchair that has not been charged for over two weeks the batteries have probably died
in this state the charger will not go into charge mode only the power light and poss the fully charge lights will light
as a quick test a 24 volt bulb from a scooter or lorry with 2 wires attached pushed into the two outer holes in the joystick charge socket should light up if it wont batteries are totally dead
mostly it seems like a software problem. Did you try restarting it by pressing VOLUME DOWN + POWER button?? if it's not working , then take it to a service center and re-flash the software once.
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
There are 4 reasons why your unit is behaving this way: 1. Charger is the problem. 2. The docking station is the broken. 3. The battery is broken or not accepting charge. 4. The actual unit is the problem. It is very hard to tell which one is causing this to happen. Let us do some troubleshooting first: 1. Plug your charger in an A/C outlet and make sure the red power light (left) is lit, otherwise the charger or the docking station is broken. 2. You can test the charger with a multimeter. Unplug the charger from the docking station and measure the voltage across the outside and inside, it should register more than 5 volts DC. If there is a 5Volt DC the docking station is the problem otherwise the charger is broken. 3. If the red power light is lit and the status light (right) is lit too, your docking station is broken. 4. If the red power light is lit, dock the unit into the charger, the status light (left) should turn red when your battery is accepting charge or turn blue when your battery is fully charged. 5. If the status light will not lit at all (while the red power light is on), tap the screen while the unit is docked on the charger. If the unit will become alive, you need a new battery otherwise you need a new unit.
12 hours is very long time to charge, the status light should turn to blue in less than 2 hours especially for a new battery.
Alkaline batteries are a No-No
Rechargeable Ni Cads are little better
The Best are NiMh Rechargables in the AA cell range
or Li-on in the specialist range.
Always get for the best.
Thanks, but I tried that and also checkedm the fuse. The batteries (3) and drill with charger are about two years old with minimal use. They all look brand new! Thanks for the reply!
