Camera CX7430 battery problems

I have a Kodak CX7430 and lately the batteries are running out quickly. I have tried the rechargeable batteries, they don't work. Sometimes I can put new batteries in and they won't work at all. I am thinking something is wrong with the camera but not sure what to do. Please help.

I have the same exact problem. A red light flashes by the view finder and a green light flashes next to the off/on, etc "wheel". New batteries, new rechargable batteries. Nothing works. Occassionally it will extend the lens but the cover won't open. Now it just flashes those lights and goes dead.

I have the same problem. After reading all the blogs, I am going to buy some lithium batteries? We let you know!

Our CX7430 was getting very demanding with batteries, finally only flashing green and red lights and powering off even with new digital camera batteries. THEN I REMOVED THE SD MEMORY CARD and it powered up!

Yup, exact same problem as everyone else. Was thinking about buying the rechargeable battery, but then realised I would need the charger to go with it, which all comes to about £25-30!! Ridiculous. Don't wanna buy another camera, just want this one to work.

VERY SHORT BATTERY LIFE. HAVE TO USE AT LEAST 4 SETS OF BATTERIES EVERY TIME I USE THIS CAMERA. RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES NO SOLUTION.

When I power it on the green and red lights both flash 10 times; then it powers itself off. And these are new rechargeables!

The company suggests lithium batteries. That has not helped! We are sending the camera to Kodak.

Easyshare will not charge battery

It's not supposed to. The CX7430 is a camera, not a battery charger. If you want to use rechargeable batteries with it, you must charge them outside the camera, or use the dock.

Battery won't hold a charge in camera, but batteries are new

Hello Sonja, Try a firmware update for the CX7430 available at Kodak website listed under SUPPORT, be sure to get the firmware download for your model camera ONLY !!!!! If this does not help, some of these batteries that come from China are very low quality and have had them discharge sitting on the shelf !!!! Try Duracell or Other name brand battery, watch out for some sold on E-Bay as many are very low quality.
Best Regards, Russell

Will my Kodak EasyShare cx7430 work on alkaline batteries or does it have to have special camera batteries?

The CX7430 will work with disposable alkaline and lithium batteries, or with rechargeable NiMH batteries. But don't mix them, make sure the two batteries are of the same type.

Kodak c613

it is a common problem for the c613 not turning on. what you can do is use rechargeable batteries for your camera. Alkaline batteries can cause power issues. Make sure that the batteries are inserted correctly.check your manual for proper battery orirntation.if this does not resolve the issue, send cam for repair.

Kodak CX7430 can only take 10 pictures with a new battery

Always use the best batteries you can buy. Either rechargeable or Alkaline. Do not use the cheapest, just because they cost less.
There can also be problems with the camera. This camera, I believe is a 4mpxl digital camera. It has a few years on it (about 2004), and in those years some of the digital cameras did need a lot of power to operate correctly.
My guess is that you are using cheap batteries, not the best you can buy.
