Two things cause the dreaded F50 code. (motor)

1. The machine control

2. The stator

The upper cover of the stator comes in kit form and has been known to also cause the dreaded F50 code.

All of them are some what costly repair(s) in my book but cheaper than a new machine.

I have yet to change a Stator for an F50 Code.... but have changed a lot of machine controls (most often failure) and stator cover kits (occasional failure) that corrected the problem.

Just being honest. Thanks for using FixYa!

Keep getting F50 code cannot reset washer

There have been a lot of reports where technicians have been ordering RPS's prior to the common fix for the problem which is the control board. This is a common problem and the control board fixes F50 faults in most cases.

My washing machine starts on normal and within a minute it starts to flash F50. what does this mean?

Check Maytag.com for computer codes relating to your device. They provide full information for all of their machines online and this sounds like a common code number.

A foul smell is coming out of the washer. The clothes don't smell, just the washer. I don't know what to do. Maytag MTW6600TQ0

for smelly situations like this you can use half gallon of bleach with no clothes in it full load cycle let it sit 15-30 min's full of water then let it run through all cycles if you want you mix it a half cup of baking soda too and it should do it.

F50 alarm on my kenmore oasis washer

The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.

If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.

Maytag Bravo Washer flashes F50 code

Most likely a bad machine control, can also possibly be a motor per whirlpool but I have never had to change a motor, changed a lot of machine controls.
