Maytag Performa PYE2200AYW drum turns until I put clothes in it, then it slows and stops.

You have the belt on wrong. There is a side with numbers or writing on it and ribbed side like treads. The tread side should be facing down, making contact with the drum. If the other side is touching the drum then whenever clothes are put in the belt will slip causing the drum not to

My dryer won't do anything. Maytag model PYE2300AYW REV 10, Serial 10604533ZU

First thing check the circuit breaker to see if it is tripped or if it is a fuse style if the fuse is blown. Next if that all checks out okay check the door switch and see tha the door switch is being made when the door is closed. The machine will not operate with the door open and if the switch is bad or stuck open then the machine will not work.

I push the start button and the dryer does not do anything. I have checked the plug and I also checked the breaker. Any other suggestions performa by maytag, model number pye2200ayw

There are probably several things to try... You've done the first of them by checking the breaker and plug at the unit.
One suggestion is that most all models have a safety switch that doesn't allow the unit to come on if the door is open. Just a check... you might trick the switch to see if the unit wants to come on when you press the start button.
I hope you get it narrowed down to the fix...

Want start when hOT MODEL NO.PYE2200AYW SERIAL NO. 10446216WQ REVISION NO.10

The overheat thermostat is tripping and cutting power to the dryer (like it supposed to). The thermostat unit may be defective or the dryer is getting way too hot.

My maytag dryer model # PYE2200AYW will not turn on

Yes you probably did see one of the thermal fuses. There is probably 3 of them in there. Here is the wiring diagram.

Or go to and enter the dryer model number and it will show you locations of stuff. Good luck.

My maytag performa pye2300ayw dryer will start but will not heat up. No matter how long I leave it on, it just won't heat up. what could be the source of the problem? the model number - pye2300ayw rev - 10...

You have a thermal overload switch that may be bad. It is located under the top of the dryer. Check first the breakers. Turn them off and then back on, then check the wiring in the back of the dryer and then the element itself. It may take 30 minutes to do all of this, but it will save you a lot in the long run.

Maytag Performa Electric Dryer, model # PYE2200AYW.

I have a ALE643RB Amana dryer and believe the heating element has went out because the dryer will not heat anymore. I have taken the control panel off the top and all the screws out on the back and the bottom edge, but am still not able to get the shell off the dryer. How do you get to the heating element?

Drum stopped turning

99% of the time it's the belt.

Pull the top off the dryer. Typically a couple of screws in the back and then slide the whole top towards the front of the dryer, an lifting from the front edge open it up like a chest. Check out the drum. You should see a broken belt or no belt.
