I took a defective switch out of my xl2. I need to know hwere I can buy a new switch

DC25s are not Hoovers, they are Dysons. And they are terrible vacuum cleaners. We see more DC25s for repair than all the other Dysons. Toss it and buy a Miele or Sebo.

A capacitor is in in practice not nessecary but sometimes its only inside for radio interference suppression. remove it the switch is if you not know it also made to disassemble because of all its a realy dirt sensitive, but rarely defect i have never replace this part in all the time this year 20 years switches of this model al very little screwdriver is neccesary open it a little not neccesary to dismount it completely and spray wd40 inside wait a moment and blow the dirt carefully out remount and control always the AC cable for shure after.

that happened to me and I took the handle apart there is a plug in there that needed to be plugged back in hope that helps you

its hard to find download i would check on ebay might find them for a couple of bucks or contact the manufactuer

I do recommend allowing the service tech do the repair.

If you have power in the outlet and the vacuum does not come on 9 times out of 10 it is the switch especially in the oreck or if the switch feels like there is no snap or click when turning on and off

There could be a problem with the cord. I suggest taking it to a local vacuum shop to have it inspected as that could be the problem

I believe all Oreck vacuums have a lifetime warranty. You should pursue that.
