Philips 42 tv won't turn on. it blinks red 6 times then pauses and continues pattern of 6 blinks etc. any ideas

your power supply board is going out.

You have a bad main board most likely. You can try unpluging it for 5 minutes.

you most likely have a thermal fuse open, without the model number I can't tell you where it is on your set.

While I can't tell you what this particular code means I know from experience that power boards fail frequently commonly on those TVs. Do you hear a clicking of the power supply first on and then off after a few seconds?

if 4 blinks is consistent and even after unplugging tv still does not power on would recommend replacing small signal board as error is i2c communication failure which is specific to microprocessor located on small signal board

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea
