Look for the three jacks(yel.,red, wht) labbelled "output or monitor out" on the back of the TV and plug a/v cables to the red and white jacks (L,R) and the other end to input of stereo amp (receiver) aux,Tv tape in. If using a satelite or cable box use the output from the back of that box. If using the TV output you may have to go into the audio menu to turn on the variable or fixed audio output.

YES YOU CAN DO IT BY YOURSELF. IF YOU HAVE A STEREO, IT SHOULD HAVE AUX INPUT...YOU WILL NEED AUDIO CABLES, RED AND WHITE...CHECK AT THE BACK OF YOUR TV, WHICH SAYS...AUDIO OUT..PLUG THAT TWO CABLES COLOUR CODE MODE...AND THIS END YOUR CABLE GOES IN YOUR STEREO AUX INPUT...ON YOUR STEREO SWITCH TO AUX AND SAME TIME ON YOUR TV....SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR SOUND

Is there any way to fix blown speakers on toshiba TV/DVD Combo MD20F52?

Replace the speakers, or use external speakers if there is a place to connect them.
It would be unusual for more than 1 speaker to go bad at the same time.
I would suspect the sound amplifier inside the TV. If the TV has Audio output connections, you can hook them to anything in your house that has an audio input.(stereo, boombox, computer, etc)

Problem with sound

This TV is not designed to plug speakers into it. You must hook to an amplifier( home theater system/ stereo) with digital optical connection.

Trying to hook up this surround sound to a hdmi 1080p tv and cant get the speakers to make anything but background static. not sure if wires are connected correctly

You probably have to use the TV remote,go into the sound settings, and change it from stereo to whatever options there may be for surround.Good luck! Greg

We have the stereo hooked up to the dynex 42'' tv, as we did our other tv, we can not mute the complete sound and also sometimes we cant turn the volume up and down whats going on?

Since you have it hooked up to the stereo system, you need to go to on screen audio set up and turn off the TV built-in speakers (you will be listening the TV sound through your stereo system speakers), then go to the audio output set up and set it to 'variable' so the audio output of the TV's RCA audio out put will vary with the volume control of the TV (not all TV will alow this function), you will need to set the stereo volume to certain level (around 9~10 O'clock setting) since the sound coming from the TV will be controlled by the TV remote volume control. You can otherwise set the TV output to be at 'fixed' level, which means the sound output of the TV will not be controlled by the TV remote volume control, you will use the stereo remote volume control to adjust the sound level instead. I hope this is clear to you.

Toshiba 52hm95 DLP HDTV - no sound

What cables are you using? Some TV's and DVD players have options to set your audio source. My DVP5982 I have to set it to HDMI digital audio, check to see if you have that on your TV.

Sound is ridiculously low

if it is a stereo tv, there should be rca jacks on the back of the tv [red, white yellow] try connecting the rca outputs to a stereo system and see if the volume is any different.there might be a loose connection to the tv speakers inside.if you have a cable box hooked up to your tv, check the connections in back. you can also try bypassing the cable box by connecting the cable wire directly into the tv to see if it's the tv. if it is the cable box try unplugging it for a minute then hook it up again.i had the same problem with my cable box. hooking it up to a stereo system sounds like a pain, but at least you will have sound.
good luck
