I just bought my first digital video camera. A JVC GR-D779U. It uses the small mini tapes. There are no instructions on transferring the data from the camera/tapes to my computer. I assumed it would be simple. I have no clue how to do this. I hook up the video camera with the tape in it to my computer via a USB port, turned the camera to "play" and assumed some software would magical appear on my computer to walk be through this. I am running Windows XP on my computer.
Help!
I have a JVC GR-D770U Video Camera. I have connected the camera by the USB port but the Vista Program does not see the camera. I can only assume I need the software for Vista to down load my videos to a CD.
Install first the bundled software with your camera turned on and plugged in to your pc and then restart your pc if its necessary..

You need a DV Cable - Page 41 of your instruction booklet.
