2003 Lincoln Town Car Issues

The simplest things can cause the most trouble - I would start with a load test on the battery - may seem to be charged after using a battery charger, but can have plate connection problems causing failure under load.

I have a 2005 1500 v-6 basic standard Dodge mistakingly I left my fog lights on battery went dead got jumped and ran for 6 min. then died. Now odometer, door ajar, and engine light, blinks. When I tur

it died after six minutes because it is not charging or the battery can't take a charge. the easiest thing to do is jump it again and test the voltage output at the alternator; if it is more than 13, check your connections to the battery. if all connections look good then the battery is probably bad.by the way, do not check the output of your alternator with the jumper cables still hooked up, or you will be testing the other vehicle.

98 legacy instrument panel lights keep going on and off, won't shut off, runs the battery down

There's a pair of connectors, green, under dashboard on left. They should be left unplugged. When they are plugged together, they cause the lights and fans to cycle on and off for diagnostics.

Under the dash to the left of where your left leg would sit is a box. 4" x 4". It is your security box. There is either a red button on it or a wire with a button. push the button for about 15 seconds and it will reset the security system. Good luck and have a great day.

Lights left on, battery totally flat, will not

You've probably flooded it then - TOO much gas in the engine.
Try this charge the battery or use a GOOD one, and beofre yout turn the key push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there. Then try and start without lifting your foot. Crank for 20-30 seconds at most.
Do that about 2-3 times, then try to start normally.
Holding your foot stops more gas from entering the engine and allows the gas in there to be cleared out.
Flooding is way easy and then can make starting very hard. You have to be aware of this when trying to jump start a dead battery.

Park lights and dash lights won't stop flashing

There is a small black box under dash by steering column that has a little red button on it. Push that button and it will reset the alarm. Whenever the power is removed from the system it will trigger that alarm and flash your lights. Easy quick fix. Box is about 4" x4" and just to the left of the column. Good luck and have a great day.
