My kenwood cd player is flashing protect. How do i

the output ic inside of the deck is probably bad. unless you are good a desoldering and soldering it will need to be repaired by a professional.

there is no code. protect means you have a short in the speakers or speaker wires, or a bad output ic.

make sure you have no bare or shorted speaker wires and check your speakers to make sure they are all good. if that all checks out, you probably have a bad output ic.

call pioneer which is common sence and what you would have to do inless its stolen then throw it away or try to rip someone off like you got took

check your wiring the unit is doing the right thing by by shutting down or your check you skpr terminal

check for shorts in your speaker wiring..

Turn on the car so the radio is flashing "Protect." Look on the front / removable face of the stereo. On it you will find a small round hole - that's a reset button. Find a small paper clip, unfold the clip and stick it gently into the hole. The "Protect" will stop flashing, and Kenwood will be displayed. Unfortunately all your settings/presets will be gone, but at least the stereo is working again!

This means that some one has entered the wrong security code more than 3 times. time to take it to a dealer

"Protect" isn't for security on a Kenwood; it's caused by a problem with the speaker output. There may be a defect in the CD player, or you may have a blown speaker or a shorted speaker wire in the vehicle. Try disconnecting all the speakers and see if the unit still shows "protect" when you turn it on. If it still shows the "protect" message with no speakers connected, the unit needs to be serviced; if not, re-connect the speakers one at a time until you find out which one is causing the problem.
