If the display reads "Check and rethread upper thread", follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
1. Upper thread may be broken.
2. Upper thread may be caught on the spool on top of the machine.
3. Upper thread spool may have run out of thread.
4. Replace the needle in the machine with a new needle.
5. Your needle could be bent or burred causing the thread to break.
6. Check that you are using the correct size thread.
- If embroidering, use 40/50 machine embroidery thread on top and 60 weight in bobbin only. Turn your machine off and rethread the machine from the start.
try changing the needle try rethreading the machine top and bobbin make sure to use every thread guide-this is improtant for the thread tension make sure the bobbin is turned correctly in the bobbin case also could be a problem with the computer motherboard or there could be a problem with the timing
Ok... so try to remember that loopy stuff on top means the bobbin tension is too loose (or the top tension is too tight...)
Loopy stuff on bottom, means the top tension is too loose. (or it's not threaded right)
Now. Get some scrap of the same material. Loosen that bobbin back to where it was. RETHREAD the top, with the foot in the UP position.
Place your scrap under the foot, and sew. still have problem? clip your threads and try again only this time hold the top and bottom threads off to the side as you begin to sew. How did that do?
Adjust the top tension to the point where you start seeing the bobbin thread come up in loops to the top... then back off until the disappear.
Now... be sure you have the correct thread and needle for your fabric. A lot of problem are caused by not having the proper needle and thread.
if you've taking the machine in 4 times to be fixed,,sounds like you need a different sewing machine repair shop. have you tried changing needles? have you tried rethread the top & bobbin thread is it possible the bobbin thread in not correctly inserted in the bobbin case? try a top thread tension of 5 & see what happens?
1. When you pull on the thread at the needle does it pull through without any tension? If so unthread it completely and rethread it again.
2. If there is resistance but you're thinking it is too loose because of loops in the stitch check your bobbin tension is too loose.
3. If the problem is with the stitch and there seems to be tension at the needle itself, and you've checked the bobbin tension, check the needle. Make sure it is the right size and type and that it is in correctly
try a new needle
make sure the bobbin is not warped
make sure the bobbin case area is free of lint or loose thread
make sure you hold the upper thread tail while it's going down to pick up the bobbin thread
make sure there is a 2 to 4 in tail for the upper thread to grab
The tread only breaks in the needle. what can i do . i don't get to sew anything . I tread the needle and get everything ready and start the machine and as quickly as that the tread is broken and the machine has not sewn at all.
For embroidery, and zig-zag, and because the needle makes side movements, it needs more needle thread.
So try to keep you needle thread not very tight,
and tight up your bobbin case tension more, so that the two threads meet under the meterial.
