What switches on the wireless card on X72

I dont know how to switch on the wireless card on X72 I am supposed to use a function key I believe. I have wireless in my home but I have to use a Dongle for my laptop even though it does have a wireless card installed. I have searched reviews and they say there is usually a switch at the front or side of it I cant see it.
Many thanks

First check to see if it is disabled in the Device Manager i.e.> a red X or yellow !

Press Windows key + <R>

type

devmgmt.msc

press return then look at then goto network adapters it will be open if its disabled, right click then enable it.

If this is OK then it will be a key toggle on you laptop some also have a light that flashes some don't like a NIC on a desktop.

Look for a blue on satellite icon on one of the function keys press it with CTRL or there will be a round button on the front, back or side.

Hope this helps please rate me !!

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y450-534 PC Notebook is supposed to have a wifi switch at the front right side of the laptop. If this button isn't available, then ot wil be a combination of the fn button and one of the Function keys. There is supposed to be a blue wi fi icon on the Function key. On a Toshiba it would be F8.

I dont know where the switch for wireless

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look onboth sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can togglethe wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN functionkey located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit willhave the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a towerwith the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Toshiba satellite a60-111 wireless cannot activate either by switch of key function

http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_downloads/PSA60C/SA60EXUM.PDF

on page 4-29 (or 106 of the pdf) is where it talks about wireless. However on page 2-9 it talks about an orange glow to know your function is turned on. review the above manual and store for the future as I don't know who provides it.

Wireless adaptor not detecting wireless networks

You need to check first if the wireless switch is turn on. You cann see that infront or the side of the laptop. If it is on, check the function key for the wireless. Some computers have function key. Sometimes it is combination of fn and f5. Press those keys at the same time and you should see a pop up window and check if the current status is on. If it is on, uninstall/reinstall the wireless driver in device manager. and restart your computer. If this didn't work. You need to do re installation of your operating system.

My Dell Inspiron E1505's wireless switch is off.

This happened to me using a Dell Inspiron laptop. The wireless switch was disabled and the answer was supposed to use both the blue Fn and regular F2 function key to enable wireless connection. I tried Fn and F2 together and it did not work. I tried just F2 alone and it worked.

Broken wireless switch... wireless is stuck on "off".

Im not sure if there is a workaround for that when the switch is broke but hold down the FN key and press the F4 key and see if that activates the wireless card. If not then you need to get that switch replaced. Hope it helps.
