HP Pavilion F1703 17" LCD Monitor Logo
Posted on Dec 28, 2007

No power my monitor will not turn on at all, the blue light on the front will turn ononce plugged in, but only for the blink of an eye and then shuts off and the monitor has nothing. I have no idea what the problem is, I do not think it is the same problem everyone else has been having with this monitor, because my light does not stay on like the others.

The inverter boards for the backlights fail on these HP F series monitors. Sometimes it is cold solder joints on toroidal coils. Sometimes the transistors that drive the output transformers (4). It is not difficult to repair if you have good soldering skills. I usually resolder the toroids and replace the transistors regardless of culprit. You may see the heating effects of bad components (discoloration) on the board.

Samsung syncmaster 2220 blinking blue light and no image display

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

How do I turn it on

Hello.

To power on the Gateway VX750, press the power button on the front. The power button has 3 sides with a "G" in the middle.

The LED indicates the power status of the monitor.
  • Not lit - The monitor is turned off or does not have power connected.
  • Blinks one time and then goes off - The LED blinks one time when the monitor's power cord is plugged into an AC outlet to indicate that power is detected.
  • Lit solid blue - The monitor is turned on and active.
  • Blinking blue - The monitor is in power saving mode. Before entering power saving mode, a message briefly appears.
Hope this helps.

Computer power button for the monitor blinks blue

there are two reasons for this to happen there are blown capacitors inside the monitor and or there transistors on the board that have failed. both can be repaired.
