Shut off windows system restore. (A must do first).
Update your antivirus software & perform a full system scan. When completed shut down your system. Unplug the power cord from the power supply. Open your case & touch the metal framing with your hand to discharge any static. Remove your system memory. Wait a minute or two. Re-install your memory. Close up your case. Plug the power cord back into the PS. Power up your system. Check windows for updates. Do not use the Express button. Use the Custom button.
Download all security updates & look to the left and install any hardware updates as well. Restart windows after updating.
There are viruses that attach themselves to *.exe files and they can restart your system. Running a system wide scan and pulling your memory takes any chance of a virus storing its self within your system memory. If this does not stop your system from restarting when opening a program. Uninstall that program. Restart your system. Than reinstall that program. You can turn windows system restore back on when you feel 100% sure your programs function correctly and windows does not restart its self. Create a system restore point.
Hope you find this helpful.
Cheers!
