I have wired up this dvd player and everything works except the dvd player. I have grounded the e-brake wire (pink wire) but I still only get the blue screen. What should I do?
Here is the code: I did this with the remote Press stop twice(which is also the BAND button) Press 1,2,6,4 Press down 1 time(button below the Play/Enter) Press Play/Enter 1 time (You should now see the menu) Brake override should say No I was told to change macrovision to No Hit sys setup twice to save and exit Hope it works like mine did!

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire OR if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved: 1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch 2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do) 3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!
install a switch with one end going to ground and the other to the pink barking brake wire off the deck switch it to on"ground" for 3 seconds then off"no ground" for three seconds do this 3 times and then leaving it in the ground position and it will work but the car must be in park when you do this
I just got this same unit on thursday of last week and put it in myself. All you have to do is ground the pink wire out and it will work without having to put a bypass code in. Hope this works for you as well.
for the uv8 to bypass the parking brake to watch dvds you have to take the pink wire and put one end to one of the screws on a two screw toggle switch connect the other end of the pink wire to the other screw and connect that to the black ground wire
There is a pink wire that goes to the parking brake. It connects to the ground wire on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on the instrument panel.
connect the pink wire on your stereo to a frame ground.
