try to buy a replacement universal remote..

I had the same problem a little while after the digital change over, channels were all lost struggled to get the set up menu up but when i did i retune the channels as soon as you turn the tele off there lost again. but it works if you leave the tele on standby. 2 people have told me it's the battery in the tele itself.

means B+ over current protection shutdown. Problem in power supply.
However since it was not used for 12 months the problem could be that the fan that cools the bulb is not starting when you turn the tv on. Blow on it to get it going or clean with compressed air. The fan could be clogged up with lint etc. It's on the rear left of the tv.

hi, to me it sounds like it could be one of two things the first thing i would do is take the control apart and check for water damage spilt drinks or babys dribble can cause buttons to act as if they were stuck.
So remove the case and clean the pads behind the buttons and clean the contacts on the circuit board with dry cloth, then put it back together and give it a try.
you may find doing that will solve your problem.

If not then the chances are the remote has a fault with it causing it to not operate your telly you know the remote is giving off a signal as its showing up on the telly so it may have been dropped causing a fault with the remote.

what you could try if this is the case is go out and buy one of those all in one remotes these can be brought from next to nothing and buying one of these would tell you if the telly is at fault or the remote as if the new remote works the telly then you know the problem is with the old remote if it dont work then their is a fault with the firmware on the telly if this is the case then it would need taking in a getting repaired as this isnt something you can do yourself..

The procedure to remove it with the remote is simple, it's a single button on the remote that allow to toggle it on and off.

The PIP function on generic/universal remote is often not the same as on the original one. PIP is considered an advanced feature.

Unplug and then turn back the unit ON, after few minutes, say 30 minutes. If the problem persists, then toggle the buttons on the remote, unless send me a pic of the remote so that i could tell you the button.

Note - Sometimes, this is a problem in TV as well.

Good day sir/maam, there are really few manufacturers of TVs that adopted to use a remote to turn on the TV. so if the remote is lost, you cant power it on, check out your dealer if they have a spare remote, or visit any electronics depot for any universal remote that your TV is compatible with, ask the dealer if it would work on your Samsung TV.

Note: browse your user manual, if it has a secret button or a combination of buttons to power on your TV. that may help.

i lost my book too but got told you can press set button and the on that has tv on it hold them down till the red light stays on then press after the power button on remote and hold down till tele turns of they all have auto scan on them incase there aint a code takes a bit longer but works for me. hope this helps

the intruction are at the back of the battery .
1 turn on tv
2 press and hold Code Search untill all device bottons light( they will all turn green)
3 press tv button. tv botton will stay on
4 press power repeatedly untill tv turns off
5 press enter and you are all set
repeat 1-5 for vcr , ect
