Tv has blue/white lines going through the screen after it has been turned on for awhile. turning the tv off and then on sometimes fixes the problem for awhile. The TV also goes blank and then comes back on. It also goes blank and then snowy and then blue. This is VIZIO vw42lf tv

Hi, I saw your tv pictures at above mentioned website link. It is LCD Panel (screen) problem, call Sony and ask for warranty cover to replace lcd panel. Thanks.
Its hard to say this but your tv has a bad PDP Panel unfortunately the panel is not available for the tv. If not in warranty see if your home owners insurance will cover it.

I suspect if you have green lines .you have a bad crt. there are three tubes red green and blue i suspect blue tube. tubes cost is around 300.00 to fix.

note sometimes you could adjust screen voltage located near the front grill black box . becareful high voltage ony a pro should do.
suspect it's 1 or a couple of bad capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit the caps are in the 400 series, c400,c401,c402, etc... check or replace c414,c418 & c417
