While I might tackle the matter of a crashed drive, Fixya does not offer software keys or hacks. I believe you are asking how to bypass quickbooks registration code. I have no way of knowing whether the aforementioned technique might affect your laptop adversely or if 2005 QB would run on a more current OS.

i working with quickbooks, and i would highly advice to just get your own license for quickbooks, if you will just ask for license and product number and install it to your computer it will ask for registration and validation code if you call the customer care hotline we're gonna ask for the license number you have and if thats not under your name you will not able to use the quickbooks.

Error 1603 is related to insufficient rights to install QB. Please follow these steps to resolve this issue. Assuming you have Win XP. 32 Bit OS.

1. Remove QB from Start>control panel>Add/remove programs. {IF YOU FIND ANY QB INSTALLED].
2. Rename all intuit folders to Intuit-old. You wil find these folders here:

• C:\Program Files\Intuit
• C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit
• C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit
• C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Common Files\Intuit
  

3. Then install QB using QuickBooks.msi . You will find it inside QBooks folder in your QB disc. Right click on the DVD / CD drive and click Open/Explore. Then go to Qbooks folder, find Quickbooks.msi and then run it. Follow the wizard and then install it.

IF STILL ISSUE IS UNRESOLVED, THEN REMOVE AND INSTALL MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 2.0 SP2. To do it, please follow.

1. Download and install .NET removal tool from:

then save it and unzip it . Then run it. Select Allversions in the box where it will ask to remove .net framework from the computer.
2. Download .NET framework 2.0 SP1 and then install it . you can download it from:

click on DOWNLOAD next to NetFx20SP2_x86.exe. download it and install it.
3. Restart your computer and then again install QB.


IF STILL YOU GET ANY ISSUE, REPLY WITH FOLL :
1. WINDOWS VERSION.
2. are you installing QB using a disc or downloading from the Internet?
3. Any Antivirus on the computer?

Make sure you have successfully installed the most recent program update for 2005 - available at:

Then, try to restore the .qbb file or read a .qbw file

Windows XP:

1. Uninstall QuickBooks, Microsoft .NET Framework, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable:
   1. Close QuickBooks.
   2. Click the Windows Start button and select Run.
   3. Enter control in the Open field and click OK.
   4. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
   5. Right-click your QuickBooks program version and click Change/Remove.
   6. Follow the instructions to Uninstall QuickBooks.
   7. Repeat steps d through f to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable.
   8. Repeat steps d through f to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework for your version of QuickBooks:
      • QuickBooks 2008 and 8.0 and later:Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
      • QuickBooks 2007 and 7.0 and earlier:Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
2. Rename the QuickBooks program folder:
   1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
   2. Browse to C:\Program Files\Intuit.
   3. Right-click the QuickBooks folder for the version you just uninstalled (for example, QuickBooks 2008) and select Rename.
   4. Enter OLD_ at the beginning of the folder name and press Enter (for example, OLD_QuickBooks2008).
3. Insert the QuickBooks CD in your CD drive, and follow the instructions to install the program.
4. Open QuickBooks.

I had to reinstall Quickbooks 2008 on a Windows installation that never had it on there before (virtual machines are handy) and now it works again. I am staying far away from letting it upgrade to latest; that's how my troubles started. I also doubt I will ever shell out money for a more recent version; I upgraded from 2005 to 2008 and it took away the ability to do automatically do IRS 941 forms if you don't pay for monthly payroll services. There has to be better accounting software that doesn't leave users stranded at year-end.

This can be a frustrating situation, and there may be more than one cause. Network permissions, user permissions, version and release of the QuickBooks program....all of these can play into this.
One suggestion would be to download the manual update from the QuickBooks support website. Save the file to a disk or a jump/flash drive, then run the update on all of the systems. You may have to open the task manager ( ctrl + alt+delete) go to the processes tab and end process on anything that begins QB.....
If they are all on the same release ( check by having the program open and do ctrl+1 on the keyboard, in the info screen it should have the version and an r number) the issues may lie with permissions, or even a stuck image file. Make sure the c: drive on the server, and the QuickNooks folders are fully shared, and that anypne logged into windows is a power user or higher.
