Printer only printed 30 pages after refilling toner
I recently purchased an inexpensive toner refill kit from the Internet. After refilling the toner cartridge, I was able to print 30 pages just fine. Now, my yellow toner indicator light remains illuminated and does not print anything. I have powered on/off and pushed the "ready" button, but no avail. Any ideas other than that I should have just sprung for the full-priced cartridge? ;-)
Re: Printer only printed 30 pages after refilling toner
Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps: Turn the printer off. Hold the 'go' button while turning the printer on. All panel lights should be on. Release the 'go' button. Press the 'go' button 2 times. Pause. Press the 'go' button 5 times. The toner light should be off. The paper light should be on. Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.

I would not advise you to refill a toner cartridge becausethe toner powder is very fine and you do not want to breath in this tonerpowder. When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your model printer.A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

1.Purchase a refill kit for your model of printer. It is important to purchase a refill kit designed for your specific model, since generic refill kits do not work well with HP printers. There are a number of places to buy these kits, but you must make sure you get the right kit for your printer model
2.Take the toner out of the printer and clean it carefully. Over time toner cartridges will accumulate paper dust, dried toner and other debris, and all of this must be cleaned away before the cartridge is refilled.
3.Flip the cover out of the way to expose the developer roller, then use a soft clean cloth to clean the roller. It is important to clean this roller before refilling the cartridge.
4.Make a small hole in the toner cartridge, using the instructions provided in the refill kit. It is important to follow the refill kit instructions carefully, since the toner refill process will vary from model to model.
5.Place the replacement toner in the hopper, then carefully pour it into the HP cartridge. Be careful not to spill any of the toner, and if you do spill the toner be sure to clean it up promptly. Reseal the hole you made after the cartridge has been refilled.
6.Sit the refilled HP cartridge on a clean flat surface and let it remain there for 20-30 minutes. Pick up the cartridge and make sure no toner has leaked out. If you do see any leaks you will need to reseal the hole you made again.

Shop for the appropriate refill kit. When purchasing a refill kit, double-check to be sure that the toner in the kit is compatible with the toner required for your model of Konica Minolta printer.
Step 2
Empty the old printer cartridge. Be sure to completely empty the printer cartridge that you plan to refill. A compressed air can is ideal for this purpose and can be purchased online or at most office supply stores.
Step 3
Remove the plug. The cartridge plug may be covered by a colored end plate, depending upon the model of your Konica Minolta printer. Simply unscrew the end plate, and then remove the plug. If using a screwdriver to remove the plug, be careful not to puncture the plug, as this will cause the toner to leak out of the cartridge and into your printer.
Step 4
Refill the printer cartridge. Shaking the powder in the refill toner bottle before attempting to pour it into the cartridge will cause it to pour much more easily. Do not squeeze the bottle, but allow the toner to simply pour out. Replug the cartridge, and gently shake or rock it back and forth two or three times to evenly distribute the toner powder inside the cartridge.
Step 5
Check for leaks. Before returning the cartridge to the printer, check the outside of the cartridge for any powder particles that may have spilled or leaked during the refill process. Wipe the particles off the cartridge, and gently shake it once more to check again for leaks. If no powder particles appear, then it should be safe to return the cartridge to the printer.
Step 6
Return the cartridge to the printer. Once you have refilled the printer cartridge and have checked for leaks, you may now return it to the printer. Go to your printer properties/settings and select the option to indicate that a new printer cartridge has been installed. Print a sample page to check print quality

Yeah you can refill your cartridge. It is really easy and consists of removing the plug on the side of the cartridge, dumping out any old toner and dumping in the new toner. Its very easy. I have purchased refill kits from both of these sites in the past and its worked great:
www.tonerrefillstore.com
www.lasertekservices.com
They also have great customer service. I hope this helps!
Thanks, Why_man56! You're great. This procedure fixed my problem immediately. Thank you for taking the time to help others.
