Have you tried to access the menu features and tried to retune the stations on digital, or are you hooked up for analog.
If you don't know about what i speak, give me a yell. [email protected] I believe my remote sensor card is bad. While this might explain why you can't turn yours off, it would not explain the blank picture. If the menu does show, i would think the picture tube is O.K. if the menu does not show, there are some other things to look at.

Direct Code Entry
1. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH
button until the red indicator stays
on, then release the CODE SEARCH
button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode
button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red
indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code
tables. Note: after a valid code entry,
the red indicator turns off. For an
invalid code, the red indicator
flashes.
4. With your device on, press
CHANNEL UP. If the device
responds, no further programming is
required. Note: If some buttons do
not operate your device, try one of
the other codes for your brand.
Switch OFF and switch ON your TV WITH ITS FRONT PANEL POWER CONTROL SWITCH EACH TIME BEFORE TRYING AN OTHER CODE.

Problem with my RCA tv - the set turns on w/ both remote and front
panel buttons, as indicated by the red power light. however, there is
no picture & no sound- just a black screen. i am unable to access
any menu's, etc - as the screen stays black. also, the tv will not turn
off - with remote or on front panel - i have to unplug set to get it
off. i have replaced remote batteries, and used instructions to
"unlock" front panel & retrieve child lock password - to no avail.

I am having the same problem out of my RCA model 27F634T TV. We had a thunderstorm today when this problem began. Set will not respond in any fashion, either by buttons on the set or by the remote. Set will not even turn off; it must be plugged in/out to turn on/off. Just a black screen, no menu, no nothing except the red power light. When plugged in, the set does it's usual blinking of the power light, then the light stays red; but the set does not make it's usual "boing" noise then the light stops blinking like it used to. I read in the owners manual to try something with the parental control, but I can't even do that due to not being able to see the menu. I was wondering if this could have been caused by lightning, but I'm beginning to think this is just a problem with RCA's based on what I'm reading tonight.
I'm having the same exact problem with mine. I don't know a lot about tv's, but could it be a problem of the bulb burning out?
I'm having the same exact problem with mine. It doesn't appear to be a parental control or station programming as the screen doesn't even come on. Is it possible for the bulb to burn out?
I am having the exact same problem with my RCA 27F634T. While I was watching tv tonight it just turned off all by itself. I can turn it on manually or with the remote as indicated by the red power light but it is just a silent, black screen. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!!
