Vertical lines on a Bravia 42 inch LCD.. Appears to be the TV - tried on antenna mode and still have vertical lines.

Either lcd panel or t-con.Try t-con first because its cheaper.

does the vertical lines appear like solid vertical bard infront of the pictire??

sounds like a cable issue, what time of source are you using to connect your tv to cable box ect??? hdmi dvi vga or coax???? I would start by changing that cable.

Well if the panel is bad it would not clear up in any situation, so its not the panel. most likely the t-con board or just poor connections inside. Julio Millenium TV in Las Vegas.

What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.

You have a problem with the LCD screen, unfortunately the only cure is to replace the screen, if you have not had the TV for too long then it should still be under warrenty.

This is a screen tab fault and in most cases will require the screen replacing

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"
