Is Sony DAV-S500 optical input compatible with optical output from Pioneer DVD player DV-566K?

I've tried to connect optical output from Pioneer DV-566K to optical input of DAV-S500 but no sound.
I also try using optical output from Sony Playstation 2 and it works so I think the optical input of DAV-S500 works fine.
I tried every optical setting on DV-566K but still no luck.
Do you have any idea?

best regards,
apisit

I'm sure that DV-566K has optical output and DAV-S500 has optical input.
I can't try coaxial because DOESN'T has coaxial port!

    I have a similar problem,

I can't find a compatable optical cable to connect the Sony system to Sky + Pace box.

I don't think this has an Optical but a Coaxial connection. You might try a coaxial audio cable not optical.

You need a set of normal rca cables (red.yellow, white) and another single rca cable..
OPTION 1 :If you have a digital satellite receiver, Connect the 3 colour cables to the corresponding colour jacks on VIDEO 2 of your dvd player to corresponding colour jacks on the VIDEO OUT Of your digital satellite receiver...Connect the single stand alone rca cable to MONITOR OUT on your player to the VIDEO IN input of your tv..

OPTION 2 STRAIGHT TO TV: connect the 3 colour cables directly to the corresponding colour jacks on the SIDE of the tv...Connect the single stand alone rca cable to MONITOR OUT on your player to the VIDEO IN input of your tv..

OPTION 3 IF YOUR PLAYER HAS AN OPTICAL INPUT: if this is the case you can just connect a single optical cable to the optical ports on your player and tv and this will enable the sound from your tv to play through your dvd player as well

I have a Samsung LCD TV model #LN46B301FUZA, a dish VIP622DVR a pioneer VSX-D307 reciever and a Pioneer DV-414 DVD player that I am trying to get hooked up. The Dish tech hooked up the TV and DVR using a...

I can't find your TV model to have a look at the manual. Normally you'd use a 3-plug RCA cable (Red, White, Yellow) to connect the audio and video outputs of the DVR to an RCA input on the TV. Then, hoping you have RCA OUTPUTS from the TV, you'd use a 2-plug RCA cable to take an Audio OUT from the TV into one of the receiver's Audio inputs (assuming you want to play TV sound through the receiver.
If you have no RCA inputs on the TV, you can get an RCA to HDMI Converter from Amazon for $10-$15 to convert the output of the DVD player from 3-plug RCA to HDMI, then put that into one of the HDMI inputs on the TV. Likewise, if you have only an OPTICAL audio output from the TV you can get a converter for that -- Optical audio to RCA stereo -- and put that into your receiver as an input.

Hi,
First try with yellow video output of DAV-S500 in yellow video TV input to get its picture. (yellow output means composite video out)
Green-Blue-Red video output is component output that will be turn on when you switch the unit into Progressive picture mode, that option would be available in Menu of DAV-S500
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.
