Maytag Neptune washer model no. MAH5500BWW; serial no. 10767755YZ. Will not turn on. Display says "od", which I thought was "open door"; but door is secured. No list of error codes in owners manual. Help!

Try and get the serial number then contact a Maytag agent. The serial number in most cases is a date code.

replace water valve in the washer. Serial number is needed to find the correct part number. It's likely 22003834, but call any parts supplier with model/serial numbers to verify.

you ll have to order and replace the latch assembly ther are 2 for this model depending on your serial number

It stands for 'open door'. The control board didn't see that you've opened the door since the last cycle and won't start another cycle until it see's that. Probably a bad switch in the door latch assembly. If you can verify a bad switch, it's best to replace the whole latch assembly. It also may be a shorted wire, trace the wiring back from the latch to the board and check for any signs of damage. It's possible, but very unlikely, that the control board is bad. If everything else checks out it's the board.

on your model all wax motor door latch's have to be replaced,go to repair clinic .com and you can order the part or go to ebay,and put in maytag neptune mah5500bww wax motor and it will come up and the guy selling the motors has pictures on how to install,let me know-mike

I own a maytag neptune, top load washer with electronic board or lcd screen, od code display, those are the door switches locates on the side of the door, the switches are electronic, an after opening the washer an opening the switches I discovered that the wire that sends the signal from the switches to the board were broken an rotted from the mold an soap that got accumulated in the switch, I took the switch an cleaned all the electric contacts, an stripped the wire back to were the wire was in good shape an re-solder the wire back to the switch, assembled back together an had the error went away ( no need to do anything else), the switches are attach to the machine with a 1/4 in screws , if you are not handy with soldering wires, you can order the part, ask for the lid switch give them your model number an I think they run about 75 dollars each, time to change em if ur a newbie, maybe an hour , I can do it in maybe 20 mins tops!
