Need help with GE triton
Good day Cathy, Your model, when you say, the back conduit.. would that be the filter/screen (plastic piece) in the far back, that has 1 screw on the left and right sides, and 2 close together... when you remove the four screws, in the area, just behind the two middle screws, is what GE calls, a Collection Chamber. The center rod, is spring loaded and as the water drains, its supposed to push upward, and seal off that screened-in area, that will force the water out the drain line.
( See if you can push it up and down) what can happen, is a piece of (anything-toothpicks, seeds, glass, plastic) gets lodged in between the area that is supposed to be sealed, and then the unit will not drain completely.. after several attempts to clean, it can fill the inner tub.
What you need to do, is to remove the center plunger (that rod sticking through the middle ) to do that the whole center piece must be removed (the rod comes out with it) it will unscrew, counter-clockwise... to get it started is the tough part.. I use an open-end wrench, where it can be held to engage the left and right little tabs, down there (by that rod again) and I use another open end wrench on the one I'm holding against those tabs (automotive guys call it double-wrenching--using one wrench to turn another).. check rubber piece on plunger, make sure its sealing. If it appears, plunger good, & you can't see that something was blocking it from closing. Put it all back together, and test it (you might have) Your next choice isn't fun. in order to replace the collection chamber, you must pull the entire unit out to get to the two 5/16" screws, and replace the chamber or I'm not suggesting you by-pass it, but its been done... the upper port on the pump (that hose leads to the C Chamber, ) is where the water drains on models that don't have a collection chamber. There's a lot of information here, I hope it was helpful, I'm new to this station, but I worked for 25 yrs for the kind folks, who created your project. If I can or you need me to, I have no problem with assisting you further.. Good luck, I think you can do it...
