Screen gets pixelated, freezes, goes black continuously.
The screen gets pixelated, freezes, goes black and then resets. It started doing it every 5 to 7 minutes two days ago and now it does it every minute to the point that it is unwatchable. When I attempted to use the DVD player that I have connected to the TV the screen was green and pixelated again, but you could vaguely make out the picture. The same cyclical problem of freezing, going black and resetting happened as well. What could the problem be?
Sounds like a bad digital board to me. Not too hard to replace in those models but, you do have to write down a few settings before replacing it. These settings are available in the service menu. Any questions let me know [email protected]

viewsonic va1703w screen is starting blur and it is changing colors Screen goes black or pixelates and after 15 to 20 mins by pressing the power on button of the monitor it is getting switched on, and again when restarted it is having the same problem.
pressure method. 1. Start by turning off your monitor. 2. Find a pen that has a rounded, dull end and get a slightly damp cloth to protect your screen. 3. Fold your cloth in two so that you do not puncture it accidentally. You don???t want to scratch your precious screen, do you? 4. Put the cloth in front of the stuck pixel and start applying slight pressure on it with your pen. Do not put pressure anywhere else than on the defective pixel, or you may break additional ones. 5. Continue applying pressure, and turn your monitor on. 6. Remove the pen from the screen, and voil? ! The stuck pixel should be gone.

how big are the black spots? are they pixel size? i have one black spot too but its called a "dead pixel" when ya buy laptops these days, sometimes...they will have a dead pixel gaurentee for like 25 dollars, but i didnt choose that so now im stuck with one annoying dead pixel on my 5 thousand dollar laptop but im fine with it i guess. when my screen gets bad, im rich enough to just replace the whole screen anyway. dead pixels cant be fixed i dont think just replaced by the whole screen.
same problem, broke my screen, ordered a new screen off ebay and replaced it. now it works fine most of the time but sometimes external display freezes. sometimes goes black, sometimes goes multicolor pixelated (full screen, in blocks, or lines) when this happens sometimes touchpad still works, others not. removing battery usualy temporarily fixes.
I have a problem with my HLN 5065W Samsung DLP that 3 other folks have and no solution. After the set is on from 5 minutes to 6 hours, the screen will freeze in black and white, I can turn it off for 5 minutes and it will display a good picture again. Sometimes the screen will just go dark blue, TV has to be cycled on/off to get the display back. This problem is getting worse, started as once a month, now 3-5 times a day. I have a tech background and can read a schematic, HELP.
Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do
is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are
outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all
HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the
scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms
you describe.
When holding the power button, to turn on the device, the screen pixelates dark and then goes blank. If I continue to hold the power button the screen will continue to pixelate dark and then go blank. In the end, the device still will not turn on.
