Cannot remove pump filter cover -Bosch Exxcel 1400

Cannot remove pump filter cover - only turns 1/4 turn anti clock. Bosch exxcel 1400. The black plastic insert in which the cover turns appears deformed at the bottom.

Many thanks. Had drained before trying to remove the cover. Can still only get 1/4 turn despite reasonable force so am wondering if some foreign object is preventing full turn and release. Could i access hose/pump inlet from underneath the machine to see nnd remove any such item? Many thanks for your help

Before removing the filter have you drained the excess water with the drain hose to the left of the filter? The filter cap should turn around 1/4 to 1/2 turn so the best option is to close it again and then repeatedly try opening it with a little more force each time. The black plastic cage could affect the removal of the filter and once removed if it is damaged you may need to replace it. These are available via most domestic appliance spares stores or directly from Bosch. Once removed check for any black plastic debris in the filter housing and chamber.

You can fromthe rear of the machine. Make sure to switch off the machine and disconnect from the mains power and also turn off the water supply tap before doing anything to the machine. remove the back cover and all will be revealed.

If you remove the front panel you can put your hand in and remove the black hose by removing the press clip, you can then put your finger in the hole and remove enough to unscrew the filter.
that is how i did it hope this helps.

If you twist the filter left and right, keep doing this, then do it as far as it goes to the left and then a bit more, to break the jam, then go right and repeat above, eventually you can unscrew it completely.
I was mislead into believing that it is only a 1/4 turn before it should come out...that is wrong...on mine wfo2865 it unscrews ! ie the manual is wrong !

My bosch exxcel has water sitting in bottom and doesn't appear to be draining down.

Check to see if there is a removable lower plastic cover at front of washer, if there is, then remove this, and you should find the pump filter located here, unscrew anticlockwise to remove and clean.
If no sign of filter, then remove rear panel of washer, and access the pump from here to check for blockage.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

F04 error message on a bosch exxcel 1400 washing machine, then the water wont drain away

This error indicates an obstruction in the water pump. . Tip machine back so you can fit a bowl under the bottom right hand side. Flip back cover at bottom right to reveal pump filter access - unscrew (quite a bit of water comes out so have the bowl ready).

Bosch washing machine won't drain and the door won't open.

Sounds like you have a blocked pump.To empty the machine manually lower the drain hose into a bowl or bucket.Once emptied the door should open.On most modern machines there will be a filter behind the kick plate at bottom front of machine, Check this for any foreign objects then try a spin before putting on again. If problem persists come for further options.

Bosch 1400 exxcel

The machine thinks the drain is blocked.. check the pump and outlet pipe for buildup of dirt.

I noticed holding start down for several seconds whilst powering the machine on, then turning it off / then on again would clear the machine's idea of where it was during a program. Does this affect the error code you're seeing?

Exxcel

Check the drain pump. It may be jammed. Remove filter and try to turn impellar by hand . If not turning freely, replace pump or remove obstruction.
