Hi, I want to set up call barring on my Nokia 6300, but have no barring password. When I called my Network Provider they said that the manufacturer (eg Nokia) would have it, but this does not seem to be the case. Any idea how I can obtain the barring password?

You shuld go to your provaider and change new sim card with your number then you can make new code . no other way for that the code its block into the network wen you change the sim you will have new sim serial then the network will accept your new baring code.
Initially the default barring code for that was 1234, on your phone type #33*1234# or *33#1234#.
The barring password was save into the SIM card and if you have changed it before and don't remember it now, it is better to call your operator to remotely unlock and set to default again your barring password.

Hi, call barring features can be used only if supported by your mobile network operator. So please call to your network operator customer care and ask for the call barring feature and password. I hope this is helpful to you.
"The barring password is required when using the Call barring service. See Security settings, 48. It has 4 digits. If the codes or passwords are not supplied with the SIM card, contact your local service provider'.
Call barring
Call barring (network service) allows you to restrict the
calls that you make and receive with your phone. To
change the settings, you need the barring password from
your service provider.
1 Select Menu > Tools > Settings > Call barring.
2 Scroll to the desired barring option, and to request the
network to set call restriction on, select Options >
Activate. To set the selected call restriction off, select
Cancel. To check whether the calls are barred, select
Check status. To change the barring password, select
Edit barrings passw.. To cancel all active call barrings,
select Cancel all barrings.
Call barring and call diverting cannot be active at the same
time.
When calls are barred, calls still may be possible to certain
official emergency numbers.
Already tried those, figuring they would work, but sadly didn't :(
