Did the same with my DW-003 and thought I'd broken the Illuminator (and the alarm didn't work). Next battery change was via a shop and the illuminator worked again (as did the alarm). This was just a battery cahnge, rather than a repair job - One of those things, I guess
The alarm should be sounding. (broken?) To turn hourly chime on and off, go to alarm screen and select SIG. Then top left button turns it on and off.
A -- B ( ) Button reference C __D
6) Hourly Chime (SIG): Press C until alarm mode is reached (AL1 - AL4 + SNZ and SIG). Press D to select hourly chime (SIG). Press A to toggle chime on and off.
This spring is connector to caseback for transmitting sound. Get an eyeglass and find out on movement backplate written SPRING COIL and put it back. If there is no marking SPRING COIL then check for the hole with approx. same diameter as spring (must easy fit in). The hole shoud be empty with contact spot at the bottom. Put the spring in and close the caseback. Check alarm sound. If it works, you did find the right hole- if not, try again till you find the right one.
There is a reset button inside your watch, but I don't think that is the problem. Most likely, there is a spring that makes contact to the watch and the back of your watch case, and it fell out by the person replacing your battery. I would definitely go back to the place where you had the battery installed, and have them take care of the problem buy ordering you a new spring or have them pay for you to send it to Casio.
There are two internal springs that contact the back cover of the watch through an insulator. The alarm nor chime will work if they were not put into their proper locations or were omitted during reassembly.
