I have a Nuvi 200 and it has worked great until a month ago when it stopped telling where to go. It will not acquire sattilites and if by chance it does it loses them within a minute. I tried to press the reset on the bottom but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks.

i had same prob about a month ago it sorted it's self out after left on charge for a week

I am having the same problem with my nuvi 350 and its about the same age. I read on another post it may need a new battery but you need to send it to garmin. I am going to contact garmin directly.

Hi I had this problem and its an antenna fault, give garmin a call and see if yours is still under warranty, if it is they will tell you to take it back to the retailor who will call garmin for a RA Number and they will replace it there and then. If your warranty has run out then call garmin to ask about repairs

I called the phne number 1-800-800-1020 ( I received from the free service list) and spoke to GARMIN customer service. The rep. ( Bill ) was so very nice. He was going to send me to the TECH. dept. but I had already tried re-setting my NUVI according to the trouble shooting directions. He said in most cases that's all it takes. I've sent my NUVI off to the address given to me and he said that they'd either repair or replace it within 10 days,, ALL AT NO COST TO ME!! Thank you FIXYA for the ph. number. Thank you GARMIN for the SERVICE. I can't wait to get my GARMIN NUVI 200 back, I enjoyed it when it was working . CHARLYNN

I've never had this problem but I have heard of a possible solution. On the Option screen where it shows Where to? and View map, press on the satellite bars on the top left corner and hold until you get the GPS screen, leave it for around 10 secs then back up. I hope this helps!

Does your Nuvi 200 have a headphone jack? If so, try that with a pair of headphones. If you hear sound, then your internal speaker went bad. It's a known problem with the Nuvi.

both the problems could be there mostly the chip corrupted.

I had a 200 W Nuvi with the same problem. Luckily it happened with the first 3 months, so i could return it to Garmin under warranty for a free replacement

The Nuvi 200 only has a 5 hour battery. Once charged, it can be removed from the charger, but the battery will only last 5 hours. Can you plug it into the car charger and navigate while charging BEFORE the battery dies? If so, and you don't have to remove the charger, you can leave the unit plugged in while you navigate without damage to the unit.
