I would like to use the frig Model# FRU17B2JW for wine storage

Mr. Lindquist: We are experiencing essentially the same problem. Have tried replacing the temperature control board without change. Would be interested to know if you get a solution.

The purpose of a wine cooler is to store wines at their proper temperatures in a proper manner. Wine coolers are set to higher temperature ranges than other systems simply because wine should not be kept as cool as other beverages.

Not recommended. Red and white wines are different worlds and in order to preserve the wine better you need to keep the wine in the recommended temperature: Red wines at 12.7-15.5 C and white wines at 9.5-13.3 C

It is important to keep the wine cool and in stable temperature that doesn't fluctuate very often. Bright tart white wine: 48-52 degrees; sparkling wine: 50-55 degrees and rich white wines: 58-62 degrees.

1. Check the setting on the frig. 2. Thermostat on frig may be broken and frig goes to near room temperature.

At that temp I'm sorry to say sounds like the compressor is shot or all the gas has leaked out. A service call is about $100.00 to ring the door bell and then add about $500.00-600.00 for a compressor and or 300.00 if the coil is bad. It might be better to get a new box with a warranty. It's between 55 and 65 degrees fahrenheit. If you're storing a lighter red wine, you'd want to keep it on the lower end (55 degrees). And for the darker (deep) red, you'd want to keep it on the higher end (65 degrees). All white wines should be on the lower end, and below. You can drop down to 50 degrees if you'd like. You said, your Oster wine refrig won't lower its temperature below 76 degrees. I have it for about 5 months, and it worked fine all this time with a setting of 50 degrees. Now it refuses to lower its temp. It reverts back to 76 everytime. Can someone give me any ideas about what is wrong? FYI Mine did not come with an owner's manual.

Sounds like the Thermostat is bad.

But New appliances are under Factory warranty and are fixed or replaced no cost to the customer!you are under
