Hey I had the same problem. Called the company; we couldn't fix it. Well I turned it upside down and a 2" flower stem fell out from when I cut some flowers next to my desk. It still didn't work. I was examining the feed area while it was running and I found another little piece of stem that was lodged way in there. I had to get it out with tweasers and it turned out to be 1" long. Couldn't really see it at all. Works fine now.

Thank you for your recommendations. My printer was not grabbing the paper on one side & after going through the maintenance recommendations. Nothing was happening because it couldn't grab the paper. So I tried flipping it upside down & a thumb tack fell out. I couldn't believe it!!! Yes, it worked and thanks for all the posts prior to this one. Because I was thinking of getting another one!

Same problem here. I had a small bit of wood that had fallen in. Turning upside down didn't work but when I pulled the paper through on the paper jam out popped the small piece of wood. Also, doing a roller cleaning in the maintenance tab probably won't hurt anything if you're still having problems.

I was having this exact problem and could not get anything to fix it -- tried the Clean Rollers function, but the paper wouldn't load in order to do it!

After reading these posts, I turned my printer upside down and...a small ceramic cat figurine fell out. (!) I couldn't see it (it's really tiny) and had NO idea it was in there!

helpful to know what kind of machine you have :\. In general one of the paper pickup roller pads is probably rotated 180 degrees out and not touching the paper, many rollers are triangular/square and have to be oriented correctly. Other causes are the plastic gears which if stripped means a junk printer unless its an expensive one. Stripped gears because someone pulled a jammed page out too violently is the usual cause. Check also for embedded staples/paperclips in the mechanism.

Canon Pixma iP 1500 is not feeding paper correctly, pulling it on the right side but not on the left.

If the feed roller in the back wobbles a lot, the end could be broken, but usually I find that something has fallen in the back stopping the paper. The best way to look for something fallen in is to use a flashlight and small mirror.

Paper jam crumbles on right side

There is probably I tiny piece of paper stuck in the feeding line on that side. I would use a few hits with dustoff and check close for a scrap of paper

1 Answer

Paper is being pulled in on the right side and getting crumbled

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

The paper will not feed correctly. The Right side is getting jam

First jam a paper on purpose then you will know where the jam is . and you will also know where to find the paper which is under the white cylinder.
