I OWN A SHARP VIEWCAM VL-Z3 AND THE CHARGER HAS FAILED. sHARP DOES NOT LIST THIS VIEWCAM ON THEIR WEBSITE ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED THE CAMERA ONLY 6 YEARS AGO. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHAT TYPE CHARGER THAT WOULD WORK WITHOUT DESTROYING THE CAMERA.
As long as you can obtain a charger that is rated the same as the one for your camera it will not be a problem unless the original charger is a microprocessor controlled charger that has the ability to control and change the charging current as the battery charges.
A camera shop can check this out for you.
If it just a simple AC or DC charger, then you can simply use the connector from your original charger and join it either by soldering or with a screw terminal block(which you wrap in Insulating tape once fitted).
The main thing you need to be CERTAIN of is as to whether the original charger is an AC or a DC type.
This will be clearly indicated on the label on the charger.
