I have developed this same problem, mold is all on the back wall of my diswasher and around the top sprayer part. I use my dishwasher everyday it seems like there wouldn't be time for mold to develope. I am using my drying cycle also. I have never seen this before and the store and warranty company say they can't do anything. NOW WHAT???

I just found black mold and mildew gooey stuff in my dishwasher tonight. I took the racks out to see why my dishes are coming out dirtier than when I put them in. That is when I discovered the black mold and mildew. I use my dishwasher daily, and just a month ago, I used a dishwasher cleaner by Cascade I believe. I am totally mystified how mold can grow when I use it daily, dries thoroughly, and vents are clear. This is new to me. Now I am just trying to figure out how the rollers go back on my top rack so I can get it back in~! I'm going to have my home checked for black mold. My water faucet in the kitchen is a "pull out spray faucet", and I shined a flash light in the faucet when it was pulled out, and it is full of mold too. If you find a solution, please let me know!! Good luck!!

....also, for now I am going to do a diluted bleach spray or solution daily and run a cycle through to help keep the mold down to a minimum....or look for detergent with a bleach additive??

First, remove the mold!

If you wash infrequently, and you do not allow the DRYING cycle to work, then you may have water left in the Dishwasher basin after running a load. If the water remains in the basin, and the door is closed, then mold will form! Use the DRYING cycle. Or if you don't want to use the DRYING cycle, leave the door open for awhile after each load to allow light in, and moisture out!

If you do use the DRYING cycle, ensure that a small amount of "Steam" is coming from the vent at the top of the Door.

Hope this helps!

White film on dishes and interior

White streaking is caused by too much rinse agent. (jet dry) Most all dishwashers now have adjustable rinse agent dispensers, so you can set them to a lower setting when you have soft water, and a higher setting if you have harder water. The adjustment is generally right where you add the jet dry. Other possiblilities would be a leaking jet dry cap, or a defective jet dry dispenser.

I have mold in my dishwasher. This happened about 6 mos ago and I used the vinegar and scrub method to get rid of it...it was a pain in the fanny! Now the mold is back...the dishwasher has also not been...

Get rid of the mold - Pour about 2 cups of bleach in the dishwasher with about 1 cup of salt, and a gallon of cold water, use the light wash, not heated. Make sure when you start the cycle it doesn't drain first or you lose the bleach. Also I don't use jet dry in my dishwasher, I use bleach in place of jet dry and I've never had a mold problem. Good Luck and let me know if this helps. Thank You

Dishes have a powdery residue

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

NOTE(((excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher can cause this as well. I recommend cleaning the inside of the unit with a dishwasher cleaner called Dishwasher Magic. its good stuff and it will get rid of that calcium build up)))
