How can I hook up external speakers? I have

How can I hook up external speakers? I have plugged them into the rear but still get no sound. Please advise. Thank you, Gene

I don't see anything about the fixed audio output. My only choices are Stereo, Mono or 2nd audio/SAP. Where and how do I get to the fixed output?

    Thanks, Gene

Go to your tv menu, and make sure that your fixed audio output is selected not variable. Variable will make not work, with the television volume is turn down. When you hook the speakers, make certain that it is on a fixed audio out, not variable, as well.

Toshiba TP50G60 50 in sound went out?

check the usual things first:

Speakers in set did not get switched to OFF instead of ON.

If using a box, or receiver that the sound is not turned down or low--not a bad idea to unplug units one at a time and plug back to allow them to reboot.

If set has connections for external speakers make sure they did not (either in menu or rear of set) get set to external.

Look to see if a DVD player or similar hooked to rear audio and video inputs works and has sound.

Got picture but no sound

check :

Speakers in set are not switched OFF.

Volume is not muted or turned off either in the set or a box if used(unplug box and plug back to let it reboot)

If set has external speaker hookup on it check set is set to internal.

Check to see if sound is there when you hook up to rear inputs with a DVD etc.

I am getting no sound

Check to see if speakers are switched off inside the set(menu)

If you have a DVD etc hooked to a rear input look to see if sound that way.

If you use a cable or sat box for signal it has audio settings that can cause this.

A few sets even have internal/external speaker settings

It could be a circuit problem but try the simple things first==a box can also cause this if hooked via the rear inputs of the set (unplug box and plug back to see if will reboot.)

Set indicated here has speakers and may have a slide switch on rear to select internal or external speakers.

Also in menu look to see if speakers are switched off.

Sound gone on Technika lcd19 907 tv

Hook up for sound is to where on the set?

If using a box for signal is the sound turned down on it?

Is there a physical switch on the rear marked internal/external speakers?

In the set's audio menu or setup are the speakers switched off?

Something happened when you unhooked, moved and hooked up again.

Where do you hook up the external speakers?

Most common external speaker hook ups are RCA jack type or if it is an older unit it may have screw terminals. Most are clustered together and are marked clearly L or R channels and if it is a surround sound unit, it will have markings for front L, front right, rear L, rear R and center for 5.1; add two more channels for 7.1. These are located on the rear of the unit.
Hope this helps.

Speakers

Hello vickiesbrown,

Yes you can, locate the external speaker jacks and plug your speaker plug into the jack. They are usually color coded.
Green (Speaker out) Pink (Microphone In) Blue (audio in),

You will be using the Green stereo jack to connect to your speakers.

I hope this helps,

No sound from monitor speakers

The monitor must plug into the PC as the external speakers did.

Can I hook up external speakers to this T.V.?

This tv carries two sound out phono plugs, but if for some reason they are not there ( date of mfr ) you can use the headphone out jack. Just go to any radio shack store and explain what you are trying to do and im sure they will be happy to assist you.

good luck,
