How to update encryption key for blue ray disc

Some newer blu ray discs require that your system be updated to view the movie. This is due to a security "encryption" set by various movie companies. (they are trying to prevent people from copying their movies).
If your PS3 is connected to the internet this should be done automatically when trying to view the movie.

There are some firmwares that support playing movies on the game, if the files are not complete, then the ps3 will not be able to play any movie, and some times it might affect game discs as well.

So when next your playstation 3 wants to system update, allow it, so it will automatically restore the files that are necessary to play a blue ray disc.

Systems update is done online, so you must have an internet connection either wireless or by connection for the playstation, and if it pops up the system update message next time, allow it. It will install new firmwares for the playstation 3 and you will be able to enjoy better services on the game.

All Blue Ray players need to be updated from time to time to keep up with the growing technology of Blue Ray. PS3 is the same way. It is asking you to update your PS3 in order to play the disc. On the back of the PS3 is a Ethernet port (looks like an over sized phone jack) connect this to your internet (modem) and it will update your encryption key and software needed to play Blue Ray discs. There are two ways to update as listed below:

* Update via Internet
* Update via Storage Media

Download the update data directly to the system from the Internet. The latest update is automatically downloaded.

Select Settings -> System Update, Download the latest update data from the Internet. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the operation.

You also perform this system update via a storage media, Use update data saved on a disc, Memory Stick™ or other media. Download the update data from a Web site using a PC
