Punch in 1101 on the system info screen...set to 0 for region free..hope this helps

It will still play DVDs and videos, and record from one to the other, but you won't be able to record from TV onto either format now. (I know: I've got one!)

I was unable to find a DF-4100S manual. However, I did find a Daewoo DF-4100P manual, which appears to be a DVD Recorder + VHS player, much like you describe. It can be found at:

Simple dismiss the offer to complete a survey by clicking the "X" at the lower-right of the screen, then click the blue "Get This Manual" button at the center of the screen. It scanned virus-free.

My recorder wont record on new discs

Instructions for changing the region:
  • Press the SETUP button
  • Select INIT SETUP
  • Select SYSTEM INFO
  • Using the remote, press 1 1 0 1
  • When the region shows, press 0
  • Press the SETUP button to exit

Would I be able to play all region DVD`s on my Daweoo DF-4501P DVD Recorder VCR player? I tried a USA DVD but it wouldn`t play. Many thanks.
I don't know if this will work, but try opening your dvd player with no dvd inside and with your controls press 0000 this hopefully will bring up a screen where your region settings are. Set it to 0 and press okay. This may make your dvd region free and should be able to play any dvds form any region

you have to finalize the disc to work on other players, should be on instructions
