Water is leaking around transmisson, i know it needs a new seal and maybe a bearing but how does it come apart. do i need special tools , is it a left hand thread ? thanks
There are special tool designed to dissassemble this unit although it can be broken down without them if care is taken.
Having the model and serial number would help but be assured that the threading is standard (Rightie tighty, lefty loosy)
Maytag used different designs. Repair depends on the model/serial number. With this information I may be able to step you through the repair.
Knowing the age of your machine would be a plus in determining if repair is economically feasible.
