My camera doesn't recognize the memory card

I have a panasonic Lumix dmc-fs3 camera that I have barely used. Now when I put the memory card in it doesn't recognize it. When I turn the camera on it says "pictures will be recorded to built in memory" . When I try to copy the built in memory pics to the card, it won't let me access the "copy" function. Under the "format" function- it doesn't recognize the memory card either, instead asking if I want to delete the built in memory. Any suggestions?

The problem may be simpler to solve. Perhaps you never normally change the setting from iA (intelligent auto), but the wheel with settings can get moved by accident. If it goes around one place counter-clockwise, it puts it onto the built-in memory, it seems. I had the same problem, and it frustrated me for months!

Never thought to check that stupid wheel! I clicked it once off the STUPID CLIPBOARD setting on the wheel and back to iA and BINGO! 3074 pictures available! I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH! We leave for a beach vacation in 2 days and I thought I was doomed to take pics of our 18 month old's first real beach trip on a phone! THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!

SOURCE: Hi: I have a lumix/Panasonic DMC-FS3.

The manual states that you should format your card when you see this error. If the card has been externally formatted use the camera to format the card,

To format, set your selector dial to play (green), push the up button to get to the second screen, select format (right), slect "YES" when given "DELETE ALL MEMORY ON THE CARD"

It should have a little switch on the side. You slide it down to lock, up to unlock.

Camera model: panasonic FS3 Lumix cannot remove memory card. know how to remove battery. memory card seems stuck or I don't know the trick to remove

Turn the camera off first.
To remove the memory card you have to push it down a bit, you may hear a little 'click' and as you let go the card will pop up a bit.
Then you can pull it out.

Let me know. Thanks.

I have a memory card in my Lumix DMC-LX5. I was unable to erase anything with it in the camera and had to do it from my card reader on my computer. When I put the card back in the camera, it said the...

You used the computer's operating system to delete the pictures. Now, your camera doesn't recognize what happened since it uses a completely different operating system. To get the card working again, you must format it in the camera. This will erase it so download any pics you want to save first.
