My Kenmore Elite HE3, model 110 45862400 front loading washer is giving the f-11 code and not advancing cycles, hijacking my clothes and requiring much resetting and unplugging to advance through the cycles and let the clothes out. It also makes a clicking noise at the back of the machine and gives an FDL code. The seemingly incompetent Sears repairman said it needed a $500 control board. Is this true? Could it be something else?
Yes!! the F/11 is triggered under high voltage conditions like high speed spinning. The part is called the MCU motor control unit. if it goes into failure while using your machine and locks the door, just wait 3 minutes and the door will unlock after the MCU resets. Try using you machine with a low speed spin for awhile.
