LIGHT, turntable, and fan don't come on

follow this test and fix it. God bless you
  1. Exhaust fan motor If your exhaust fan motor is not running, there are a couple of things that you can check involving the motor to locate the problem. After removing the fan motor, you can manually attempt to turn the fan blades with your hand. If the fan motor is working properly, the blades should spin effortlessly. If this does not occur and the blades are taught, the motor will need to be replaced. Secondly, the fan motor itself can burn out due to time and usage. Using an ohm meter, the exhaust fan motor should read open for continuity. If it does not, then the fan motor has expired and will need to be replaced.
  2. Thermostat Another part that could cause the microwave exhaust fan to not work is a faulty thermostat. A thermostat gauges the air temperature, which activates the exhaust fan when required. If this part becomes flawed, the exhaust fan will not energize and the thermostat will need to be replaced.
  3. Main control board If your exhaust fan is still not working and the microwave fan motor, wiring, and thermostat are operating accurately, the root cause could be with the main control board. Replace the main control board.

How to change the inside bulb in a ge spacemaker microwave that has a top vent fan

My Spacesaver bulb replaces from the top. You have to remove 2 screws that hold the upper vent cover. W/ cover off you will find a phillips head screw about the center that holds the bulb cover. Remove the cover screw & lift up & remove the cover, then replace the bulb, the cover & screw then put the vent cover & it's 2 screws back. There may be some variance but they are all similar.

The microwave does't make any noise ,,,but the count down on clock is working ...light is working but no fan ...or huming noise ...what could it be

HELLO.

The likely thing to be is that the microwave fan is faulty.the solution is to replace the fan.

Needed instrument:Phillips-head screwdriver.

Instructions on how to replace the fan is detailed given below.

    • 1. Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet to prevent an electrical shock while
    • working on the microwave oven.

    • 2 .Remove the screws holding the fan shroud to the top of the microwave oven. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, turn the screws counterclockwise to back them out of the panel. Set the screws in a safe place so they will be available for installing the new fan.

    • 3.Slide the fan shroud--also referred to as a damper plate--forward, toward the front of the microwave, to remove it. Set the shroud to the side.

    • 4. Lift the fan assembly out of the microwave. An electrical cable and plug is accessible once the fan assembly is out of the way.

    • 5. Unplug the electrical connector from the fan and fully remove the fan assembly.

    • 6. Set the new fan assembly close to the top of the microwave to facilitate plugging the new fan into the microwave's connector. Plug in the fan assembly.

    • 7. Position the new fan in the same orientation as the old fan's before its removal. Lower the fan assembly into position.

    • 8. Slide the fan shroud in place and install the screws to secure the shroud.

    • 9. Tighten the screws with the Phillips-head screwdriver by turning the clockwise.

    • 10. Plug the microwave oven into the wall outlet and test the new fan installation.

Both oven lights blown and fan not working

If you've noticed that your oven is not heating up, there could be a problem with your oven fan thermostat.
its simple to check :

1.
Open oven door and locate the back plate, which can be found at the rear
of the appliance. Remove the back plate from the oven fan (it should be held in place by between two and six screws). The oven fan is located behind the back plate.
2.
Examine the oven fan element and the fan blades (they are exposed once the back plate has been removed). If there are noticeable signs of burning, blowing, bulging or splitting in an area of the oven fan, you can tell where the problem is coming from. It is also common for there to be no visible signs of a problem. This allows you to determine whether or not the oven fan can be replaced from inside, or if it is necessary to enter the back of the appliance.
3.
Remove screws from element and disconnect wires if screw heads are showing. This is commonly the case, as it is unusual to have to further disassemble the oven. After the screws are removed, the element becomes detached from the oven. Use caution to not accidentally pull out electrical wires that are connected to the element.
4.
Take the rear cover off, which is held in place by multiple screws. After that, you should be able to see the wiring harness, fan motor and the components of oven fan element. Parts of the fan element are near the round fan motor, which is located at the center of the oven. There are two electrical connections and one earth wire. Take note of the location that the earth wire is placed, because it needs to be restored to the same position.
5.
Remove the oven fan element. Check the element again for obvious signs of damage. If there are no apparent markings, check the oven with an electrical test meter or a continuity tester. After replacing oven fan element, return all connections and covers to their original positions.

This should help you up to an extent to check it in case of any assistance please revert back.

Food won't heat up

Hello, I had the same problem, and just fixed mine. Start by turning on your microwave (on mine, the light turned on and timer worked, but the fan nor the plate turned)... push the door upward and see if the microwave turns on... (mine did). so far so good. open the door and take the upper hinge cap off with flat head screwdrive. take the door off and place a small washer on the bottom hinge, put the door back on. your microwave should be good now. essentially, the door just needs to be pushed up a bit so it will work.
good luck, hope that works for you...

The fan on our Kenmore microwave oven is not working.

My husband took the unit off the wall looked down into the fan and found a dead mouse keeping the fan from spinning. We removed the dead mouse cleaned up the area. Turned on the oven. The fan worked perfectly. Then he rehung the microwave.
Thanks!

The door of my Kitchen Aid Microwave YKCMS1555RSS wouldn't open because the plastic prods that push open the latch had worn down. The oven was otherwise functional. I inserted some plastic knobs to extend...

The door latch heads (prods) are not making proper contact with the door switches, so it will not work right.

The latch heads need to be replaced.

Light and exhaust dont work

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
