Every time I start my Kenmore HE2t washer there is
Every time I start my Kenmore HE2t front load washer there is a very powerful smell of mold. I can't find the manual but I suspect there is a filter that needs cleaning. Any suggestions?

If it has a clean cycle that says, "Bleach Only," run it with 1/2 cup bleach right in the machine. If not, run it on the longest, hottest cycle you have. In the future, leave the door open slightly between loads.

Take the front panel off the bottom and look for a clear bag with the tech sheet in it. It has the tests that you need to run. The old models of this make had issues with the whole control panel and it is not cheap

The trick is to clean the interior using regular detergent, baking soda, and hot water; run a complete cycle without any laundry in it. Wash the rubber boot where the door seals with same mixture at which point the interior should smell fresh and clean. Now is the time to leave the door open after use so that the remaining moisture can evaporate out to prevent mold growth. Hope this helps!
Run a cycle ,no clothes in, with about 3 cups/ 750 ml of bleach in it. How? put a fil a plisticbag with the bleach and set it in the washer. It will tip up when you start the cycle. You should end up with a clean washer and clean empty bag.
every front load washer evetually will start to smell, the best solution ls run your washer with hot water and put a container of clr in the washer it will wash all the residue built up on the outer tub
Run an empty load of Clorox water. Put double in and run the complete wash & rinse cycle. It will kill the mold spores. Keep the lid open when you're not using it.
