My washer is spinning properly I ran the dryer last night with an open back or no tubing for the exhaust on the lint outlet it ran for 15 minutes relighting the burner and about the fourth time it tried to relight it would not
Lots of people point the finger at the dryer when they have a problem you could have bad thermal cutoffs on the back of the flame tube BUT is your washer spinning properly to remove the majorityof water from the clothes

Remove
lint from your dryer's lint screen. Remove the lint screen from your
Kenmore dryer and vacuum the area behind the lint screen with your
vacuum's hose attachment.
Check to make sure that the dryer temperature is set appropriately, and has not inadvertently been turned to "Air Fluff."
Ensure that the gas valve on the supply line to your Kenmore dryer is completely open.
Check
the room temperature in your laundry room to make sure that it is at
least 45 degrees. Your Kenmore dryer will not operate properly at
temperatures below 45 degrees.
Make sure that the dryer outlet grill is not blocked by a fabric softening sheet.
Dryer Not Running
Check to see that the dryer cord is properly plugged in to the electrical outlet.
Check
your fuse box to make sure that the fuse is not blown, or check your
circuit breaker to make sure that it has not tripped. Replace the fuse
if necessary or throw the circuit breaker.
Check the outlet itself to make sure that it functions properly by plugging in a portable device.

Good day, Without a make, model or style of heating (gas or electric) I'm at a handicap. However, if it is a gas dryer, and will heat the first cycle but nothing after that until it cools down, then it usually is the gas valve. A coil kit, consisting of 2 black coils is usually what goes wrong. They develop an internal short, and must be replaced. They are mounted on top of the gas valve with a bracket. Unplug the wires and remove the 2 bracket screws. Install in reverse order. It's a pretty easy repair.
Sounds like a faulty high limit or cycling thermostat. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a certain temp. It should be mounted on the exhause duct inside the back of the dryer. It should look something like the one in the picture:
The heating element is supposed to cycle on and off to maintain a set temperature. If it takes too long to come back on again, then the thermistat is malfunctioning.
Take a temperature probe and stick it in the drum and let it run for a few minutes and note the temperature. Should be consistantly near 90 - 130 degrees. Good luck :)
Check your igniter coil. It sounds like this part could be going bad. Another possibility is that the thermostat is defective. Some dryers have more than one thermostat.
Yet another possibility is that your thermal fuse is faulty.
I would check this webpage for more troubleshooting hints:
Are you getting little or no lint on the lint screen? Are the clothes coming out nearly as wet as they went in, but feel warm? If so, you probably have a blockage somewhere in the vent/duct. Don't just check the back of the dryer, but also check the duct thru the wall and the point where it exits the house (exterior wall or roof). Many times birds will nest in the exterior vents or if they have a screen to keep the birds out it may become clogged with lint. If you have a window nearby try drying a load with the vent hose disconnected from the wall and hang it out the window (you COULD vent it into the house, but you may end up with lint everywhere and a lot of moisture in your house).
