I put my games into my ps2 slim all the wires are fine and conected propperly but when go to put it on nothing loads up on my tele screen , the disk is still spinning and it sounds like it is working fine it just doesnt show up on the tele .... what can i do ???
Make sure the game disc isnt dirty. also check the eye (game disc reader) to see if its dirty. if u cant see it (you probably wont b able to) then take it to a place like target or gamestop(GS). i reccomend GS.

Take the game out and see if the laser is towards the back. If so, pull the eye towards the spindle or where the hole of the game goes.....and clean the laser eye with a q tip soaked in alcohol.....
Games like God of War 2, Grand Turismo 4 etc take time to load and some times these games are not loaded by consoles with weak lenses or dirty lens.You should consider cleaning your lens.Cleaning lens might solve your problem plus here is a trick for you to play such heavy games(Although its about playing DVDs on PS2 but you can play your game by following this tip the same way.) I have a ps2 slim SCPH-79001, so I am not sure if it will work with the fat ps2s but:
Turn the ps2 horizontly with the ps2 front facing you. Then put it in, you should hear a few ticks (with the slim) and just tap it against you knee a few times until you jear it spinning.
Again, I'm not sure if this will work with the fat ps2, but I hope I helped.
Sony machines have notoriously bad lasers. I find that with the slim if you have a small amount of nail polish remover on a cotton bud and dab the laser (whilst off and without touching the laser) that does the trick
sounds like you need to adjust your lens is all you need to do. there is lots of howto guides on this online if you would like I can dig it up for you. because ushally if one works but not the other then the lazer just has come out of alignment
Have you tried other discs? Try copying the disc into a DVD-R and see if this works...I've tried this solution personally on my modded PS2 Slim and it worked fine...hoped this works for you too...
hi is your ps2 the one where the lid lifts up to put the disk in if so their can sometimes be a problem with switch on the lid when you press the button to load the game push down on the lid and hold it down and if this is the problem then the game will load. My ps2 has this problem and i have to put books or bottle of somekind on the lid to keep the lid pressed down far enough so that the switch works and loads the game.
Also you could try cleaning the laser lense you can buy a lense cleaning disk and that will clean it for you and if thats the problem as moving it might have caused the dust to move inside a bit affecting the laser have a go at these ideas then get back to me ok
