LG LCD TV 37LP1D digital freeview tuning problems

is your tuner set to scan for cable channels or tv channels. there is a difference though the cable input and the tv input use the same connector

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Get a Digital antena,any name brands.Make sure it put some where high,will get all the free air tv channels.

You're going to need to use your menu button and do a channel scan.
When it completes use the save option if present and exit the menu.

Maybe you have to tell it to look for digital channels, not analog.

Have you completed the entire auto programming?This can take up to 30 minutes and if you don't complete it you won' get any digital channels.If you have done this then you need a new main signal board.Call lg and they will refer you to the nearest service center.

There are a few problems turning up as a result of the update. Do a factory settings on the box if it has the option to do so. Be aware of the actual transmitter you are on and the channels/frequencies it uses so when tuning you know whether its finding channels at the bottom, middle or top of the band. Sometimes you may need to unplug the aerial upto or after a particular channel to stop the box tuning unwanted transmitters. If you are picking more than 1 transmitter up you will often get extra channels in wrong locations

if u pick up NON freeview channels, i think the antenna isnt good enough to pick up the signal..freeview requires a very good signal, very important.
If you think this isnt the problem rescan the channels
If you think the TV is faulty contact Samsung directly

TV is searching for over the air channels. Select in the main menu to go from over the air to cable channels and you should be fine.

The retuning process is as follows:

1. Press the [i+] button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
5. Wait for the process to complete.

If toy wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.
