Kitchenaid mixer are supposed to make a slight grinding sound while operating under load. This is simply the gears meshing together while the motor is turning them, but if the sounds gets worse or is already a metal grind type sound this could indicate a broken worm gear inside the unit, and shouldn't be run any longer. However if your mixer isnt on SOLID ground this could cause the tremble as well.Hope this helps

Thanks

My Kitchen Aid ksm150ps stand mixer mixes only at high speed even on the first setting. What could be the problem?

sounds like the set screw in the back unit is too tight. Take off the back cover with the single screw up top. On the switch assembly that is now revealed, run the switch back and forth to see how it is interacting. The small set screw at the bottom probably needs loosened or tightened to give you the other speeds.

What is the difference between the Kitchen Aid "KSM150PSMC" and the KSM150 ?? thanks

Hi,

The KSM150 is the line of mixers with similar features. It is in the Artisan series, tilt head, 325 watts. All mixers in the KSM150 line have the same features.
The one that you asked about, the KSM150PSMC is done in metallic chrome.

Grinding noise when running.

It very likely sounds like a plastic gear that is worn. If this is the case, then a replacement is very likely stocked by the manufacturer only.

I advise opening the unit to identify which one you need, then 'phone the manufacturer with the make model and year of the product.

If they say they do not stock it - then I'm afraid that's as far as you can go with this.

Kitchen aid stand mixer bought in US, moving to Europe, 220v 50hz

I can not respond to the warranty issues. My kitchen aid mixer is past warranty as well. I live in a country that uses 220V and my kitchen aid mixer is 110V. I have been using my kitchen aid mixer for almost 4 years with no problems at all.

The converter boxes are supposed to blow the fuse on the converter before it reaches your appliance and cause any problems.

If you purchase a 220V kitchen aid (although it would cost more money) it would probably have more power because of the higher voltage.

Hope this helps!

Kitchen Aid 10 speed 325watts

Some of the gears may have broken or slipped off. You'll need t open it up to see why the shaft from the motor will not spin or you will burn out the motor with the power on trying to make it go. It might be a DIY job if you can see an obvious problem like a slipped gear, otherwise take it to a repair specialist.
