I have an LG W1942T monitor and I am unable to power the monitor on. It is plugged into a surge protector and I can confirm that the surge protector and the power cord are working properly. It is 1 year 4 months old. I also don't know to get the cover off the monitor to check for internal problems.

No it doesn't work then either. It almost looks like a loose connection inside because I can jiggle the plug to sometimes get power. It doesn't stay on for any length of time thought (maybe a second or two)

Sorry, it's on the monitor. Yeah I know that you can shock yourself working on those kind of things.
It feels like the cord is seated properly. When I move the cable it moves the plug on the monitor slightly.
Is the monitor end of the cord separated from the monitor's frame at all? That is, can you physically move the connector any distance at all? Does it feel like the pins are making so-so contact? Does the plastic case try to pull the connection apart?
Is the part you wiggle at the outlet end, or the monitor end? Remember if you do find a way inside the monitor there's a chance for nasty shocks and the like ...
Does the monitor work if plugged in to a non-surge protected source?
