Try removing the battery and try starting it up with only the power cord plugged in. If it still doesn't work, it can be an issue with the motherboard.

The style of power supply is different from a universal power supply. A universal power supply won't fit in the slot properly.

check the BIOS to see if the system is even recognizing it..if not drive is most likely shot
