Rattling noise when shaking Lumix ts1

I have just bought a lumix ts1 and when you shake it there seems to be a rattling sound from inside. It only happens when I shake it side to side and forwards to backwards, not up and down. When I then turn it on the noise stops, and when I turn it off it starts immediately. Is this normal?

Sounds like the autofocus assembly is moving back and forth when it shouldn't. Normal? I wouldn't think so.

The rattle is normal and as it is stated in the trouble shooting section of the manual...not a malfunction. This camera takes amazing photos. I have had it for a week and so far it has been very impressive.

Hi

I own the same camera and it's just started to do exactly the same thing. It rattles when off as you've described, but switch it on and it stops.
I've had it for a couple of months and it's taken some fantastic photos, but I wonder if it needs to be sent back to Panasonic in case it gets worse? What action have you taken?

The hardware inside is defective. You will need to replace the camera either by warranty or buy a new one. Make sure you save your pictures!

Motor makes a noise

The motor will make a noise as that's the sound of the gears miving along the lens. I wouldn't shake the camera if I were you though.

Error in the system (OIS)

Try turning off the "shake control". Does that help? Also, go into the menu and find "reset" to return to factory default settings.

Speaker is not working properly , rattling noise coming

Can you hear any rattling inside if you shake the monitor? It can be blown speakers or they are being driven too hard, just want to make sure before taking it apart. Do not expect too much sound from monitor bulit-in speakers since they use very small speakers that sound like tin can for most application.

Rattling sound from the exhaust

The metal shielding around your catalytic converter could be rattling or the rubber donut that holds the rear tailpipe could be bad. When your car is cold shake your tailpipe and see if you can reproduce the noise. If you can your tailpipe donut is likely bad. Three dollars at any auto parts store. If it does rattle when you shake your tailpipe then the heat shield for your convert could be loose. You need to tighten it up another piece of metal between it and the converter to keep it from rattling. If you hear the rattle when you go over bumps too then your exhuast is probably, loose. Crawl under there and stake shaking things, I am sure you'll find the problem

Kenmore Elite 137889, grinding noise

If the noise is like a shaking of rattling , like coins being shaked , then it is an object trapped inside the tub.

If instead the noise is a loud grinding , that may get louder on high speed, then it is usually a bad drum bearing.

The drum bearing is replaced by accessing the bottom side of the washer, and is a not a simple repair.
