This just happened to me - totally freaked me out. I tried tapping - didn't work. But I did go to the tv color settings and toggle the mode (from standard to vivid) and it popped off. *phew*

SOURCE: My SOny Bravia 40 inch LCD TV has a vertical line

Hi,

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

Thanks

Sounds like a possible T-con board failure. Which would need to be done by experienced tv repairman

The vertical output section circuit has the fault. Contact any experienced service technician. This is not a user repairable fault.

My sony bravia 32" is

hi ;
there's a problem in screen driver of your LCD, if you lost your receipt, that's bad luck.
if you know how to disassemble the back case of the TV , you can try some RESETTING of connectors from LCD screen driver to display driver board
marmeto12_2.jpeg
its only 50% chance to remove the line.
thanks.....

52" Sony Bravia TV has a thin Blue line down left

A line on an LCD screen can be cause by the screen itself going bad or the T-con board. The T-con board the attached to the screen on the backside and covered by a heatshield. If you get teh part number from it you can find it online from one of the many retails that might have it. Like www.interliquidparts.com

Sony bravia led 40" blue

That actually happened to a tv of mine once-i had some clear diet soda get spilled on front, I didn't clean it out(just off of screen) and I corroded the contacts on the lcd itself. if it is a recent problem get it cleaned/clean it yourself as soon as possible to prevent damage to screens connections. hope this was helpful, good luck. A blue screen usually indicates that you are on an input with nothing hooked up to that input.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32v2500, 16 months old, a thin vertical green line has appeared just off centre. It is on all channels and all input sources. Any suggestions?

If it still under warranty, no cost will be there, but if its out of warranty, you have to pay to Sony (might be they give you some discount) because its problem in LCD Panel.

Sony Bravia XBR 40" LCD

First, HORIZONTAL CENTER.
1) Press MENU.
2) Scroll to SETTINGS.
3) Scroll to SCREEN.
4) Go to HORIZONTAL CENTER. Move the picture to the right. Hopefully, the line will go away. Otherwise, there is a problem with the pixels or the signal processor. Call 1-800-222-SONY. Or, http://eservice.sony.com. Have a high-limit credit card handy for out of warranty repairs. Sorry about that.
