Our washer shakes badly at the spin cycle

Our washer, just bought, shakes when it hits the spin cycle, and not just a little bit horribly where it moves and hits the wall and the dryer, the legs are even and we ran it with out cloths in it and it didn't do it, why does this happen, can there be some thing still wrong with the legs or the drum of the washer

My washer was moved without shippig bolts. (okok, I know...badmove...didnt know it at the time...and the worst part is...itgotdroppedon its back during the move) It is thumping on spin cycle. Can I align the tub myself?

  • Anonymous Nov 29, 2008

Our shipping bolts have been removed and the washer still shakes violently during the spin cycle. We have had the GE repair out to fix but they were no help, simply telling us we needed to balance the load!

    Thoughts much appreciated.

Why is Maytag Centennial 3.2 cu. ft. SuperSize Capacity Plus Top Load Washer shaking during spin cycle

check to make sure it is sitting level on the floor and one leg adjuster hasnt backed in making it shake. But even when you stick cloths in evenly they can bunch up during cycles.

Whirlpool duet mod#ghw9160pwo washer shakes the whole house during spin cycle. shocks look good, springs look good and adjustable feet are tight and on floor. the washer is level and i get no alarm...

Unit probably has bad main shaft and bearings. Worn bearings will cause excessive shaking on spin cycle. The shaft, bearings and seal will have to be replaced. Also if you grab the tub by the top and shake it up and down, it will have a little play in it. That will confirm bad tub shaft bearings. It's a pretty big job for a DIY.

SHAKING WASHER

I had a shakey washer that I bought open box from "circuit city", it was a return.

I was to lazy to learn why the washer would shake and a technician told me to manually balance the wash load in the drum.

Later, I got into the washer and lubed up the rotating shafts and rockers. The washer lost all its shakes with the mechanics properly lubed. From the factory the mechanics were never properly lubed.

Tight mechanics that are supposed balance the spin cycle by moving could be part of what is getting warm. The belt spinning the washer also takes a beating when the drum shakes.

Get a good discount on your washer first, and then lube the mechanics. Everything about the washer is meant to work. If the mechanics are too tight you'll have shaking.

Ge fornt load washer mod #wcvh6260fww the inner drum chatters violently in hi rpm spin-- not to be confused by the entire unit shaking-- the inner drum only

I'm having a similar problem. Mine sounds like there is something behind the drum, like maybe a coin or loose nut? It screeches horribly.

Front loader vibrates and moves

You shd check the front legs - they shd be a maximum screwed up, that is the machine shd be tilting forwards. Then you adjust acccording to your floor level. The machine should not shake a bit when off, & you try to shake it with both your hands.

A little vibration is normal when the spin starts. Don't forget to rate me nice............

Our washer shakes badly at the spin cycle

look on the back and take the shipping pins out there are 4 bolts on the back of the machine the only only ones that are 1/2" socket size or 7/16" pending on the machine.
